UCSB Wins the Online College Bridge Championship!!!
The Overbidders Anonymous have finally done it! In a thrilling 106-102 victory over the Claremont Colleges bridge team, your UCSB players have taken home the college crown for the first time in program history. UCSB took first place in its seeding group in the qualifying stage by handily defeating Georgetown, Yale, and Caltech. In the knockout, UCSB stomped over Northwestern and executed an impeccable comeback to edge past traditional powerhouse Georgia Tech in the semifinals.
Andrew Rowberg, Philip Tian, Danning Lu, and Nicholas Adamski led the team throughout the knockout phase, while David Mc Carthy, Aaron Maharry, Ian Banta, and Michael Zhang played in the group phase. This was truly a tremendous team accomplishment for UCSB, and we look forward to defending our title in 2021!
